Lawrence H. Davis

Lawrence (Larry) H. Davis is currently Senior Advisor and Chief Scientist for MAP Energy, LLC., a Palo Alto-based energy development company where he has been associated since 1988. He previously served as President and Managing Director for its Natural Gas division before deciding to devote more time to personal activities. Mr. Davis holds a BA with High Honors in Archaeology and Geology from Wesleyan University, an MS in Geology from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Davis is a Certified Petroleum Geologist and a Certified Professional Earth Scientist.
Mr. Davis is currently the chair of the alumni advisory board to the Geology Department at the University of Michigan. He is a former National Director of the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists (SIPES). Mr. Davis is also a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Society of Professional Evaluation Engineers (SPEE), Society of Professional Well Log Analysts (SPWLA), Geological Society of America (GSA), and Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists (RMAG).
He is a director of the Oklahoma Geological Foundation (OGF) and a Trustee Associate of the AAPG Foundation. Mr. Davis is director of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, a Trustee of the Oklahoma County Library Endowment, a Trustee of the Oklahoma City Jewish Foundation and is also a past President of the Jewish Federation of Greater Oklahoma City as well as a past president of Temple B’nai Israel also in Oklahoma City.
