Kuaybe Basturk

Kuaybe Basturk is a Turkish language instructor, who taught at UCO (University of Central Oklahoma) and Dove Science Academy in Oklahoma and at a community college and several different schools in Austin, Texas.

She is a fixture at interfaith events and a frequent guest speaker on diversity, inclusion and Islam. She served as the executive director of Dialogue Institute Oklahoma City for two years after serving as a board member for Dialogue Institute Austin, Texas for several years. She also served as a board member of "The Interfaith Alliance" of Oklahoma, ‘Sister Cities International of Oklahoma City’, ‘Community Alliance of Oklahoma’ and as member of the "Religions United Committee" in Oklahoma City. She is the recipient of Oklahoma Conference of Churches 2019 Interfaith Award.

Rabbi Juan Mejia

Rabbi Juan Mejía was born in Bogotá, Colombia.  He holds a degree in philosophy from Universidad Nacional de Colombia and a Master's degree in Jewish Civilization from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Juan was ordained in 2009 by the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in New York. He serves as Rabbi in Residence for Be’chol Lashon, a think tank that advocates and celebrates Jewish ethnic and racial diversity, and is the Education Director of Emanuel Synagogue in Oklahoma City.

Kayla Murphy-Crouso

Kayla Murphy-Crouso serves as one of the coordinators for Multicultural Programs & Services at the University of Oklahoma.  She serves specifically Asian American Programs & Services and Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives for all Multicultural Programs & Services communities. After earning two Bachelor's degrees in Intercultural Studies and Ancient Near Eastern Studies, Kayla earned her Master’s degree in Theology and History from The University of Edinburgh in Scotland.

 

In addition to her work at OU, Kayla also serves as a Keynote Speaker, Consultant, and Intercultural Ceremony Designer and Officiant through Sadhana Institute, the business she created to provide intercultural and interfaith learning and guidance.
